You will be assigned a therapist who will remain your person to engage with, talk to, and plan your support programme with throughout your time with us.

You and your close family receive our App to support you throughout your time with us and for the year following the programme.

You receive six 1-hour online 1-1 sessions with your primary therapist to help you begin the journey.

Over the 4-days you are with us you will have the opportunity to write, create, and explore your recovery process. To help, we provide you with a welcome pack, that is yours to keep, filled with all sorts of goodies to support your exploration.

Starting from 0830 each day you will be with us, your primary therapist, and additional members of the team over 4 days as we support you through this stage of your trauma recovery.

You receive six 1-hour online 1-1 sessions with your primary therapist to help you complete this part of your recovery journey.

Our 4day intensive treatment programme will take you on a journey that will support your trauma-recovery. You will have the opportunity to experience leading edge psychological and somatic therapies; you will also learn about psychological trauma, why it occurs, and how to recover through it.
The intensive programme allows you to take a deep dive into your recovery journey with experts in psychological trauma at your side guiding you throughout the process.
Specifics
Research has shown that it is completing enough therapy hours that is important in recovering from psychological trauma, not the length of time in between sessions. This means instead of taking weekly therapy sessions spread over several months, you can complete them in a vastly shorter time period and get equal, if not better, outcomes. It means you can experience change and improvement and get your life moving forward in a considerably shorter space of time.
Our intensive treatment retreat is focused on assisting people who are struggling with the effects of psychological trauma. Each day psychological support is dynamically tailored to the evolving needs of each person, as they work through the presenting layers of their trauma history.
Intensive treatment programmes provide preparatory sessions ahead of the retreat, multiple therapy sessions daily whilst on retreat, and therapy sessions afterwards, to help integrate the experience.
Due to the nature of psychological trauma, our treatment retreat groups are small, to facilitate safety within the group. The maximum number of people we allow per retreat is therefore 6.
Psychological trauma creates significant changes in the brain as well as the body. For this reason, treating psychological trauma requires a specialist approach that both accounts for this and reduces the risk of re-traumatisation.
Here at SafeHaven we follow the trauma-informed approach designed by Judith Herman. This means your sessions throughout the retreat programme cover all 3 key elements of trauma-informed care
