At SafeHaven, we support people to improve their life in a way that works for them. This means that whilst we work with standardised ethical frameworks for client welfare - we also understand the limitations of the 'cookie cutter approach' to therapy. This means therapy needs to be tailored to you. For that reason, no two therapy plans look the same, as each person has different needs.
Structure in therapy is essential, however that structure is discussed and collaboratively determined at the start of therapy between you and your therapist. We provide the professional recommendations, you provide the life-factors that must be considered, and together we put a support plan together.
Life if challenging. Life at some point throws people into navigating hardship, trauma, failures, fears etc; so it is not unusual to become overwhelmed, to not thrive, and to struggle psychologically 'placing one foot in front of the other'.
However, human beings evolved to respond and ultimately strengthen as we move through difficulty. This means as you come through the challenges you are facing in your life, you can expect to grow, develop and become stronger out the other side.
Human beings are tribal in nature. We are designed to thrive through healthy connection with another. In a modern society where we are ever more digitally connected, we are all experiencing less healthy human interaction than ever before.
Part of the 'gold' that therapy offers can also be part of the fear of starting sessions - which is being open and feeling vulnerable in the presence of another. At SafeHaven be reassured that one of our primary areas of focus is to ensure people feel safe enough and can build trust in us, deepen the trust in themselves, and in time also feel able to build/rebuild trust with others.
